The Rivermount Cafe, also known as the Hummingbird Cafe, is known throughout the area for serving true Home Cooking.
And what is true Home Cooking?
The traditional art of cooking consisted of selecting the basic ingredients for a meal, doing all the preparing and cooking, and then serving it in an attractive manner.
Unfortunately, that art is quickly becoming lost. With all the prepared foods available for home use, and commercial use, true Home Cooking is lost.
However, the Rivermount Cafe takes great pride in preserving the traditional art of cooking from basic ingredients.
So, what does that mean for you?
It means that everything (with the exception of our cherry pie filling) is individually selected, individually prepared, individually cooked, and individually presented to you for your enjoyment.
Our Breaded Veal Cutlets are hand breaded, hand cooked to perfection, and hand presented to you.
Our Rhubarb Pie is also hand made, from our own rhubarb; and our Apple Pie is also from our own home-grown apples.
Our bread is homemade!
Our pan fries are hand peeled, boiled, and cut from real potatoes.
Everything (except for our cherry pie) is made from hand selected ingredients.
And that means the finest to you and your family!
Ice Cream House
From mid-May to mid-September, our Ice Cream House, close to Hwy 5, boasts many flavors of fine ice cream for your enjoyment—just what's needed on that hot day.
